Caleb read two issues of the magazine PC World and gave them both 4 out of 5 compasses!

  • Of Make It Faster!, Caleb said, “This is for those who are into computers.”
  • Of 12 Steps to Protect, Caleb said, “This is all about computers and related objects.”

Caleb also watched some movies from the X-men series.

  • Caleb watched X-men and gave it 5 compasses!  He said, “This Marvel series is one of the best I have seen.”
  • Caleb then watched X-men 2 and gave it 5 compasses as well adding, “The ending to this movie was nerve-racking.”
  • Next, Caleb watched X-men 3 and gave it 5 compasses!  He said, “The storyline in this was outstanding.”
  • Caleb also watched X-men Origins: Wolverine and gave it 5 compasses adding, “This movie is an interesting prequel.”

Caleb then read three issues of the magazine Nintendo Power.

  • Caleb gave 30s Launch Special 5 compasses and said, “I got this because, for the most part, it talked about the newer 30s system.”
  • Caleb also gave Sonic Generations 5 compasses and said, “I got this because it had reviews for the new Ocorina time 30.”
  • Caleb also read Special E3 Review and gave it 5 compasses as well!  He said, “This got me interested in E3 after reading it.”

Caleb also read three issues of the magazine Popular Science and gave them all 5 compasses!

  • After reading Future Energy, Caleb said, “I really like this magazine series.”
  • He thought Inventions of the Year was “neat because it showed things that people built by themselves.”
  • He also enjoyed the main article in the Supertrain issue.

Caleb then listened to the album A Rush of Blood to the Head by Coldplay.  He gave the album 5 compasses adding “I think this band is awesome!”

Caleb also watched the movie The Pacifics and gave it 5 compasses!  He said, “This movie was cute.”

Next, Caleb listened to two albums by Tonic Sol Fa and gave them both 5 compasses!

  • After listening to the album By Request, Caleb said, “These songs were pretty good.  I have gone to their past three concerts.”
  • Caleb also listed to Boston to Beijing and said, “This CD is awesome and the band is an a capella.”

Caleb also listened to the album Prism by Yoshida Brothers and gave it 5 compasses adding, “This group’s music is sweet!”

Caleb then listened to the album This is the One by Hikaru Utada and gave it 5 compasses as well!  He said, “I think she is my favorite singer!”

Next, Caleb listened to two albums by Owl City.

  • Caleb listened to  Of June  and gave it 5 compasses!  He said, “I think this CD is cute.”
  • He also listened to All Things Bright and Beautiful and gave it 5 compasses as well adding, “This band will be for those who like fresh and meaningful songs.”

Caleb also watched the movie Hulk and gave it 5 compasses!  He said, “What happens in this movie is really spiffy.”

Caleb then watched the movie The Incredible Hulk and gave it 5 compasses as well!  He said, “This  is better than the first live-action Hulk.”

Next, Caleb watched the movie Thor and gave it 5 compasses!  He said, “I thought this movie was really good due to its characters and storyline.”

Caleb also watched the movie Cars 2 and gave it 5 compasses adding, “To me, this movie was very heart-warming and funny.”

Caleb then watched Kung Fu Panda 2 and gave it 5 compasses!  He said, “This movie may be better than the first!”

Next, Caleb watched the movie 9 and gave it 5 compasses adding, “This movie has a very good storyline, plot and characters.”

Caleb also listened to the album Yellow Submarine by The Beatles and gave it 5 compasses!  He said, “I think this band is classic and has good songs.”

Caleb then listened to the album An Airplane Carried Me to Bed by Sky Sailing and gave it 5 compasses!  He said, “This CD was its own kind of good for its songs to styles.”

Natalie read The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and gave it 4 out of 5 compasses!  She said, “The book had a good storyline, but I didn’t like all of the gore involved.”

Natalie also watched The Sound of Music and gave it 5 compasses adding, “This is one of my favorite musicals!  I liked the “Cuckoo Clock” song the best!”

Natalie then watched Annie and gave it 5 compasses as well!  She said, “It was a very uplifting musical!  I enjoyed all of the songs!”

Natalie also read Books 4 & 5 from the Confessions of Georgia Nicolson series by Louise Rennison and gave them both 5 compasses!

  • Of Confessions of Georgia Nicolson #4: Dancing in My Nuddy Pants, Natalie said, “It was a good book filled with many laughs!  My favorite part was when Georgia and her friends were in Paris.”
  • Of Away Laughing on a Fast Camel Natalie said, “This book was ‘vair, vair amusant’!  I really enjoyed reading it!”

Next, Natalie read Secrets of My Hollywood Life #3: Family Affairs by Jen Calonita and gave it 4 compasses!  She said, “It was fun to read how Kaitlin balances life between her fame and her friends.”

Natalie also read Percy Jackson and the Olympians #5: The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan and gave it 5 compasses adding, “It was a very exciting book filled with action and adventure!  Definitely my favorite in the series!”

Natalie then read Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit and gave it 4 compasses!  She said, “I was disappointed with the ending.  I liked the movie better.  The book was still good, besides the ending.”

Next, Natalie read Girl, 15, Charming But Insane by Sue Limb and gave it 4 compasses as well!  She said, “The book was funny but it wasn’t one of my favorites.  Jess Jordan, living in the midst of England, experiences hilarious solutions to problems which do not always end well.”

Natalie also watched Shrek Forever After and gave it 4 compasses adding, “I liked all of the characters but I didn’t like how they decided to end the series.  Rumplestiltskin was my favorite character!”

Natalie also watched some Harry Potter movies.

  • First, she watched Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and gave it 5 compasses!  She said, “I thought it was very interesting to learn about Voldemort’s past.  I liked how Hermione starts to fall for Ron!”
  • Then, Natalie watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I and gave it 4 compasses!  She said it was “full of suspense.  I enjoyed almost all of it!  Some parts seemed boring though.”
  • Natalie also watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II and gave it 5 compasses adding, “Filled with excitement and thrills, the last movie is a great finale!  Prepare to witness the epic battle of Harry and Voldemort.  If you are a Harry Potter fan, you do not want to miss this!”

Ashley watched Season 1 of Sgt Frog Part 1 and gave it 5 out of 5 compasses!  She said, “It’s so great, it’s packed with hilarity.  I never would have imagined that there were a few love triangles in the series.”

Ashley also read Anya’s Ghost by Vera Brosgol and gave it 5 compasses adding, “I thought it was amazing.  I love Anya and can totally relate to her.  The ending was really touching and not to disappoint.”

Ashley then watched Howl’s Moving Castle and gave it 5 compasses!  She said, “Studio Ghibly films are the best!”

Ashley also watched some of the Lucky Star series and gave it 5 compasses, adding “such a good series!”

Ashley then watched Season 1 of Case Closed and gave it 5 compasses!  She said, “Each mystery is so amazing and even more amazing is how Conan finds the clues.”

Next, Ashley read Trigun #2 by Yasuhiro Nightow and gave it 5 compasses!  She said the “storyline gets better and a possible new ally.  Can’t wait for Trigun Maximum.”

Ashley also read Full Metal Panic #1 by Shouji Gatou and gave it 5 compasses adding, “It was more than just robots fighting robots, it had something for everyone.”

Ashley then read Hollow Fields #1 & 2 by Madeleine Rosca and gave them both 5 compasses!

  • Of the 1st book, Ashley said, “It’s strange, but I liked it.”
  • Ashley said the characters in the second book “are very enjoyable”.

Ashley also read Full Metal Alchemist #8 by Hiromu Arakawa and gave it 5 compasses.  She said, “It was so good.  Barry the Copper falls in love and it’s really funny who he likes, but my favorite Homunculus dies!”

Next Ashley read Land of the Blindfolded #2 & 3 by Sakura Tsukuba and gave them both 5 compasses.

  • Of Book #2, Ashley said, “Romantic tension, such a great story.”
  • After reading Book #3, Ashley said, “can’t wait for the next volume.”

Ashley then read Fruits Basket #5-14 by Natsuki Takaya and gave them all 5 out of 5 compasses!

  • Of Book #5, Ashley said, “OMG Kisa is sooo cute!”
  • Of Book #6, Ashley said, “Did I laugh? Did I cry? More like all of the above!”
  • Ashley said Book #7 is “the ending story of Tohru and her friend”.
  • Ashley really enjoyed Book #8 because it had Hatsuharu.  “He’s my favorite character!  Who would ever want to break up with him? I object.”
  • Ashley said Book #9 was “another great volume!”
  • In Book#10 Ashley said, “The plot thickens and confessions of love are brought to attention!”
  • Of Book #11 Ashley said, “So shocking.  The ending is kinda sad.”
  • Ashley enjoyed Book #12.  She said, “Hatsuharu and Rin make such a cute couple, but so do Rin and Shigure, but I’m more for Rin and Haru.”
  • Ashley said Book #13 is “very funny, filled with romantic tension.”
  • Of Book #14 Ashley said, “I love Rin!  Hatsuharu + Rin forever!”

Cole read Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin and gave it 5 out of 5 compasses!  He said, “this book is so good it makes me look at the moon and wonder what else is up there.”

Cole then read The Warlock by Michael Scott and gave it 5 compasses “because wars, magic, alchemy, and astonishment are all in this book making it a secret wonder!”

Cole also read Frequenaut! by Paul Feig and gave it 5 compasses as well.  He said, “It’s a different world full of creatures and president teachers!”

Cole then read When Santa Fell to Earth by Cornelia Funke and gave it 5 compasses!  He said, “It’s the most seasonal book I’ve ever seen!”

Cole also read the first two books in the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling.  He gave them both 5 compasses!

  • Of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Cole said, “Potions, wands, brooms, spellbooks–this book has it all!”
  • Of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, he said, “J.K. Rowling made another book with her magic pencil–or is it a quill?”

Cole then read Fire and Ice from the Warriors series by Erin Hunter.  He gave it 5 compasses adding, “It set my mind on fire, then it gave me a chill, like ice.”

Next, Cole read The Adventures of Unemployed Man by Erich Origen and Gan Golan and gave it 4 1/2 compasses.  He said it was “a comical adventure full of puns!”

Cole also read The Secret Science Alliance by Eleanor Davis and gave it 4 1/2 compasses as well.  He said, “The smarts of kids’ inventing skills are opened to us…all in this ONE book.”

Cole then read Help! I’m Trapped in My Gym Teacher’s Body by Todd Strasser and gave it 3 compasses adding, “It’s a strong book, it’s muscle-y, and it gives a big punch to the fun!”

Katelyn also read Artemis Fowl and the Arctic Incident by Eoin Colfer and gave it 4 compasses adding, “Artemis has to help save the underground fairy world so that he can help save his family.”

Garret read all of the books in J.K Rowling’s Harry Potter  series and gave them all 5 out of 5 compasses!

  • Garret first read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.  He said, “Harry learns he’s a wizard and goes to Hogwarts where Professor Quirell (a.k.a. Voldemort) is trying to steal the sorcerer’s stone so Voldemort can be immortal.”
  • Garret then read Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.  He said, “Harry goes to Hogwarts for his second year where the chamber of secrets has been opened for the 1st time in a century.  Everyone thinks Harry opened it, but it was Ginny.  Harry battles the Basilisk.”
  • He also read Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.  He said, “Sirius Black escapes from Azkaban.  Everyone thinks that he’s a murderer.  He comes to Hogwarts to find Peter Pettigrew (a.k.a. Scabbers) who sold Lily and James Potter to Voldemort.  Harry and friends figure out Sirius is good and help him.”
  • Garret then read Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.  He said, “Barty Crouch enters Harry in the Triwizard Tournament where Harry has to battle the Hungarian Horntail, save Ron from the Black Lake, and go through a maze.  He finds out Voldemort is back.”
  • Garret also read Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.  He said, “Harry and Dudley are attacked by dementors.  Harry goes to Hogwarts.  Harry starts D.A. where his friends learn to fight.  They go to the Department of Mysteries where Voldemort wants the prophecy.  They battle Death Eaters.  Dumbledore saves the day.”
  • Garrent then read Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.  He said, “Harry and Dumbledore bring Professor Slughorn back to Hogwarts.  Harry collects a memory from Slughorn about horcruxes.  Harry and Dumbledore go to find a horcrux, but it’s a fake.  Snape kills Dumbledore.”
  • Garret also read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.  He said, “Harry sets out to find horcruxes.  He goes to the Ministry, Gringotts and back to Hogwarts.  His friends help him find the last horcrux.  Harry battles Voldemort and Harry wins.  He had enough trouble for a lifetime.”
